PD201, What is a Webinar

This example comes from work we did with the CDC called “Professional Development 201: What is a Webinar” (PD201)”. A video-based course explaining how to effectively design, develop, deliver, and evaluate webinars for professional development events. Beginning with a review of the CDC Professional Development Practices learners are exposed to details on adult learning principles and theories. The remainder of the course covers planning, designing, delivering and evaluating webinars for professional development. The course consists of 20 videos ranging from 2 to 6 minutes. The course is intended for funded grantees who are tasked with providing Professional Development offerings and others who provide Professional Development services in schools, school districts, or other school communities, state departments of education, and state departments of health. Videos were developed using Adobe After Effects. The web pages were developed and served through the CDC’s web content management system. The example video, containing the animations, is the course introduction.
