Management for International Public Health

Social learning, as an instructional design, provides a structure and method for learners to learn from each other. This example is from a project we designed and hosted for the CDC to support the Management for International Public Health (MIPH) program.

The goal was to create a platform, using social learning to provide professional development for members across the international community of public health workers. A centralized website provided a place for members to get updates and announcements about new and upcoming events, access newsletters, learn best practices, post comments to a discussion board, and sign up for educational webinars. Webinars covered topics such as project management, advocacy, grant writing, process improvement and other topics designed to help public health workers enhance their clinics and team.

A link to the orientation video shows how all these elements were incorporated. A link to the webinar slides shows screen shots and excerpts of the community site.
